Houston is a must-see Texan travel destination, with an outstanding architecture and a reach nightlife, many shopping opportunities, and plenty of art and cultural attractions.

Houston is also a major hub to the South Texas Gulf Coast and to the East Texas area.

WHAT TO VISIT IN HOUSTON

Houston downtown corridor, with its magnificent glass-metal towers is a major attraction. Institutions, museums, galleries, theatres and entertainment, restaurants and malls are the trademark of the downtown.

There is also the Museum District and the Rice University district (with dozens of high ranked museums and galleries), the Astrodome (the famous acclimatized stadium), the Galleria in the west border of downtown, the Montrose, a bohemian-cultural-entertainment district (see the Houston Press for information on nightlife and entertainment in Houston), or the Nasa Johnson Space Center, 25 miles south of the city.

BEST TIME TO VISIT HOUSTON, TEXAS

Spring and Fall months are the best times to visit Houston. Average high temperatures range from 80 to 90?F (27?-32?C), low temperatures range from 60? to 70?F (16?-21?C) while humidity levels remain moderate.

Winter can also a good time to visit Houston if you aren't interested in the South Coast beaches.

WHEN NOT TO GO TO HOUSTON, TEXAS

The city is a year-round destination, but, considering the weather, Summer isn’t the best time to visit it. Expect very high levels of humidity and high average temperatures around 95?F (35?C).

Summers tend to be hot and suffocating, with violent (though brief) thunderstorms, strong winds and heavy rain (especially in late summer). Besides that's also the hurricane season (Houston is a hurricane-prone region).
