July through October is the most popular period to visit San Francisco. Outdoor living (concerts, music, eating, biking...) and beach life are mainly centred in the rainless summer and autumn months (Summer and Fall come late in San Francisco: the warmest days are often in September, and October is normally a very agreeable and relatively hot month).
Any time is good to visit San Francisco, but Summer and early Fall are really special.
