WHAT TO VISIT IN THE ARIZONA NAVAJO AND HOPI COUNTRY

The Monument Valley - close to the Arizona-Utah state border - allows the most magnificent sceneries of the American west. Many American movies about the West were shot here.

The Canyon de Chelly National Monument is another major reference in the Arizona Indian Country.

For those interested in the pre-columbian civilization, the Mesas region - home of the Hopi people - may also be an interesting place: the Third Mesa is one of the oldest continually inhabited places in North America.

The best time to explore this part of Arizona is between March and May, or during mid and late Fall. During these periods temperatures are usually mild and the rain scarce.

In the April to May period you may catch the cacti and other desert plants in bloom.
