WHAT TO VISIT IN SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA
Santa Barbara is, mainly, its downtown (with its museums, historic buildings, malls, restaurants, bars) and its golden and marvellous beaches stretching north and south of the city, in the coastline.
BEST TIME TO TRAVEL TO SANTA BARBARA
Summer is the high period in Santa Barbara. Unless you book your hotel rooms well ahead it will prove difficult to get accommodation in the summer.
But if you prefer to take your chances, April to early June and the early Autumn are also very good times. The weather is usually as fine as in the summer, just with less people and with a more relaxed pace (and with considerable hotel discounts).
Though Santa Barbara is pleasant year-round, fog often rolls in the coast, even during summer. And that will mean cooler weather...
WHEN NOT TO GO TO LOS ANGELES
Rainfalls are usually brief and there are many blue and sunny days in the winter. But winter is the rainy season (it rains an average of 6 days per month) which you may want to avoid...
If you want less crowds and lower prices in accommodation and other services, then do not choose the summer. Instead, choose March, April and May, or the period between September and November. If you want less packed periods, also avoid the major holidays.
If you want to escape especially packed days, weeks and weekends, then do not travel to Santa Barbara in Thanksgiving and in Presidents' Day weekend (February), Easter week, Memorial Day weekend (end of May), the Fourth of July, Labour Day weekend (September), Christmas, New Year's, and other holidays .
